Bill Vass, VP of engineering at Amazon Web Services, is here with us today. At the most recent AWS re:MARS conference, Bill gave a keynote address on engineering that covered several recent changes to Amazon Sagemaker, including its support for the creation of synthetic data. During our conversation, we covered a wide range of topics related to synthetic data, including the significance of data quality when producing synthetic data and some of the use cases for which this data is being produced, including warehouses and synthetic house generation in the case of one of their more recent acquisitions, iRobot. We also examine Astro, a home monitoring robot, including the models it uses, the on-device sensor suite it has, and the link between the robot and the home.
